Entry Requirements: Our online courses are open to everyone, regardless of age or location. No prior training or qualifications are required.
Course Duration / Timing: Complete your course at your own pace, with access to the Online Student Portal 24/7. Typically, the course takes around 12 hours to complete, and you have up to 12 weeks to access the resources and 12 months to submit your case study evidence.
Studying from Overseas: Our courses are accessible worldwide, and our certificate is accredited by ABT, recognised internationally. However, if you plan to work or get insured outside the UK, please check local regulations and insurance requirements.
Difference between Online & Classroom Courses: While our classroom courses offer face-to-face training at our UK locations, our online courses provide the flexibility to study from anywhere. Both options are accredited, and you'll receive full support from our team throughout your studies.
Course Structure & How to Study Online
Upon booking, you'll receive instant access to your course(s) via our Online Student Portal. You can progress through the learning resources at your own pace, complete practical treatments at home, and submit case studies for evaluation by our team.
Technical Requirements: Access the Online Student Portal from any device connected to a stable internet connection.
Models & Kits: Practice treatments on friends/family or use a lash training mannequin head. Kits are not included but can be purchased separately.
While it's not mandatory to purchase a starter kit from us, having the necessary tools and products is essential for practicing treatments on friends and family as part of your certification process.
We offer starter kits, available for purchase here. If you choose to buy a kit from us at the same time as your course, you'll receive a special discount. Please note that delivery may take up to 7 days after payment clearance.
Alternatively, you're welcome to source products or kits from other suppliers if you prefer. Our courses are designed to accommodate your flexibility and choices.

Once logged into the portal, you'll find your dashboard displaying all your active courses. You'll be guided through each online course,.
Work through the comprehensive study materials at your own pace, including video tutorials, and diagrams to support you.
To pass, you'll need to achieve a score of 70% in the online theory test, with the flexibility to retake tests as needed.
Completing a small number of treatments at home on friends or family is required, with video evidence of these treatments submitted for assessment to finalise your course.
Assessment criteria for videos
- to film you will need a camera or phone that can take videos and forwarded virtually
- A tripod stand or a ring lamp with film holder would be ideal you can pick something up on ebay or amazon, this will benefit your content after the course.
- Please record from a birds eye angle and close up in focus (blurred videos cannot be accepted)
- ensure you have enough storage to film

Once assessment criteria is ready, submit them to our team at training.academy@ijaesthetics.com for evaluation. You'll receive feedback and/or your certificate by email within 7 days.
Certification
Upon successfully completing your online course, you'll receive The IJ Aesthetics Training Academy Certificate via email within 7 days of submitting your case studies. Our certificate is accredited by ABT (Associated Beauty Therapists), allowing you to purchase insurance to offer your treatments to the public with confidence. You can use our discount code IJ10 for a 10% off your ABT insurance.
Career Opportunities
With your newly acquired skills, you'll have the opportunity to kickstart your career in the beauty industry. Whether you choose to operate your own business from home or on a mobile basis, you can potentially earn £50 per hour.
Some salons may also consider you for self-employed or employed positions, depending on their individual requirements and local regulations. Keep in mind that opportunities may vary across different regions of the UK.
Insurance on Completion
Our certificate is recognised and accepted by leading beauty insurers ABT, and more. This insurance coverage not only protects you when providing treatments to clients but may also offer additional benefits, including coverage for your kit, protection against damage to client property, and legal assistance.
While insurance is not required to attend our courses (as you'll be covered by our company insurance during online training ), it becomes essential when you start offering treatments to the public as a qualified therapist.
